Following on from our camera platform upgrade on the 9th July 2024, we have been working closely with our developers to provide some of the features and functionality that were available previously.
Please note: this article is an amended version from our video platform provider. We have simplified and include the changes that relate to the Digicore Dash Cam. Click here to see the release notes for 1.16 x.
1.17.7 & 1.17.7+audio
- Force flushing any DVR data in RAM to local storage in case of Power cut (so that there is no data loss due to any buffering). This will be useful in capacitor powered cameras which might lose power abruptly on power cut, before the application can gracefully shutdown.
- Bug fix where the Stop Sign detection was disabled until there is at least one lane calibration in the device. This constraint has been removed.
- Bug fix in Truck speed sign violation for heavy duty vehicles in US. The Truck speed sign was incorrectly converted while comparing with the vehicle speed value, resulting in violation misses.
- Handling of Gray scale driver camera feed (if Gray scale is set through asset configuration) for SeatBelt and Smoking modules. Until this version, Gray scale feed for these modules were resulting in event misses.
- Live-streaming time inscription wasn't taking case of Day-light saving which has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug in EDVR requests where units were incorrectly set to imperial.
1.17.6 (July 2024)
Bug Fixes:
- Resolved an issue where the QR code scan session for driver login would end prematurely.
- Fixed a bug that caused devices to incorrectly report the internet state when connected to a network without internet access.
- Addressed an issue leading to false speed sign detections.
1.17.5 (June 21, 2024)
New Features:
- Introduced an early version of yawning detection for testing purposes.
Bug Fixes:
- Handled cases where the driver camera was not recognised.
1.17.3 (May 28, 2024)
Configuration Updates:
- The "mediaUploadMinimumSeverity" configuration for tailgating is deprecated and replaced by "mediaUploadMaximumTailgatingTTC." This corrects an earlier error where the system checked for maximum TTC instead of minimum TTC for uploading media. There is no change in the normal tailgating event detection; this configuration sets a threshold for uploading media for tailgating events. By default, all tailgating events will be uploaded.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue with event-rate-limiting for tailgating events where severity was incorrectly used to discard events.
- Resolved a rare issue caused by a race condition that resulted in incorrect location bundles for events.
- Corrected an issue where media capture for AI-triggered events with Picture-in-Picture was uploading with the wrong priority.
- Fixed several corner cases related to driver and road camera media capture configurations that were causing application crashes.
- Addressed a bug where PowerCutAlert and PowerLowAlert events were sometimes not captured and reported on Digicore Dash Cam devices.
- Fixed an issue where, in some cases, the GPS percentage value in trip metrics health events was reported as negative.
1.17.2 (May 10, 2024)
- Bug Fixes:
- Corrected false event triggers related to camera health due to bad mounting.
- Fixed an issue in Digicore Dash Cam devices where PowerCutAlert events were not sent correctly, with PowerLowAlert being sent instead. After the fix, both events are sent as intended.
- Resolved issues where push notifications were missed in some scenarios on Digicore Dash Cam devices.
- Fixed a crash related to provisioning information that was causing the application to restart.
- Corrected timestamp inscription when the
forceTimezoneconfiguration was enabled.
1.17.0 (April 8, 2024)
Vision System Enhancements:
- Improved the seatbelt detection module.
- Reduced false positives in traffic light violation detection.
Live Telematics and Device Tracking Updates:
- Introduced new events for bad mounting detection, such as BadMountingRoadVanishingPoint and BadMountingDriverCameraFaceLocation.
- Deprecated older bad mounting events and replaced them with more specific events, such as BadMountingDriverCameraFaceFixed.
- Increased the storage limit for GPS messages in the Kafka Queue to 75,000 messages when there is no network connection.
- Enhanced external camera connection status reporting, with new events like
ExternalCameraAttachStatusandconfiguredExternalCamerasInfoadded to trip health events. - Introduced new audio alerts for external camera connection issues.
- Added a new health event,
TripBlockedOnLowMemory, for when a trip cannot start due to insufficient camera memory.
MDVR on Digicore Dash Cam Enhancements:
- Improved the configuration of event videos and image capture, allowing for collaged views from external cameras.
- Enhanced the DVRWriterSummary event to include separate DVR write percentages for each camera being recorded.
Other Changes:
- Introduced the option to force TLS 1.3 for connections between companion and dashcam.
- Updated the AWS Kinesis library for live streaming from version 2.48.1 to 2.75.0.
- Added camera/source information to error messages when live streaming fails due to unavailable cameras/sources.
- Reduced the debounce time for PowerLow and PowerCut events on Digicore Dash Cam cameras to match the hardware’s internal timing.
